The Jusscope name comes from my affinity for Martial Arts films and the Shaw Brothers in particular. All of the Shaw films were preceded with a logo that read, “Presented In “Shawscope”. When I made my first animated shorts in college I would start them with “Presented In “Jusscope” as homage. When I built my first website, it became my go to moniker and it has stuck ever since.

The logo that usually accompanies it is another homage to my favorite childhood pet, “Pete” who would regularly sit on my desk and watch me draw. Now he is a permanent fixture on all of my art projects.

I have worked as an illustrator and animator in numerous artistic fields including animation, gaming, and commercial advertising. My work has encompassed time with companies such as Nickelodeon, MTV, Picture Plane Illustration, Wild Brain Animation, Viz Media and Leap Frog and I have contributed artwork to various popular properties such as SpongeBob Square Pants, Star Wars, Super Mario Bros and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, all while running my own independent art studio in Oakland, California.
